Terms of Service
Last updated: 31 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Koar Group Limited, trading as CourseXpress, a company registered in Scotland (SC848652), registered office 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, EH2 4AN, United Kingdom ("we", "us"), for your use of CourseXpress. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you use CourseXpress for an organisation, you accept them on its behalf and confirm you're authorised to.
You're a "consumer" if you use CourseXpress mainly outside your trade, business or profession, and a "business user" otherwise. We recommend keeping a copy of these terms.
2. The service
CourseXpress turns documents you provide into hosted online courses that you can share with learners. It isn't designed to meet sector-specific rules, such as those for health or financial records, so don't use it for data covered by them.
We own, or are licensed to use, the CourseXpress software, website, name and logos. While you follow these terms, you may use the service for your own courses, business or learning. These terms don't give you any other rights in them. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely, without paying you.
3. Your account
You must be 16 or over, give accurate details and keep them up to date. Keep your sign-in secure; you're responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at support@coursexpress.io if you think someone else has used it.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the files you upload and the courses you create. You give us a licence to host, copy, process (including with AI, as described in our Privacy Policy) and display your content only as needed to run CourseXpress for you and the learners you give access to. The licence ends when your content is deleted, apart from short-lived backup copies. We don't sell your content or use it to advertise.
You confirm you have the rights to the content you upload, and that it's lawful. Don't upload content that infringes others' rights, is unlawful, harmful or deceptive, or contains malware. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, and will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.
If you think content on CourseXpress infringes your copyright or is otherwise unlawful, email support@coursexpress.io with the page address, what you own or what's wrong, and how to reach you. We may pass your message to the person who uploaded the content.
5. AI-drafted content
CourseXpress uses AI to draft lessons, quizzes and picture descriptions from your files. AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Review drafts before publishing; as the creator, you're responsible for the courses you publish.
6. Creators and their learners
Creators decide who can take their courses and are responsible for their course content and for their relationship with their learners, including any personal data of learners they invite, as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Plans, payment and cancellation
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance, in pounds sterling, by subscription through Stripe, at the price shown when you subscribe, which includes any VAT or sales tax due. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you authorise us to charge your payment method at each renewal. Keep your payment details up to date.
You can cancel at any time in Billing; you keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for, and we don't refund part-periods unless the law requires it. If a payment fails we'll retry it, and you keep your plan for a grace period of 14 days after it was due; after that your workspace moves to the Free plan.
Plans include usage allowances, such as AI course imports, shown on the pricing page. We'll give at least 30 days' notice of a price change, which applies from your next renewal. If we show a clearly wrong price, we'll tell you and you can choose not to go ahead, with a refund of anything you paid at that price.
If you're a consumer in the UK or EU, you have 14 days from subscribing to cancel and receive a refund, reduced for any service you used in that time. To use this right, email support@coursexpress.io.
8. Acceptable use
- Don't try to break, overload or get around the security or limits of the service.
- Don't access other people's accounts or data without permission, or impersonate anyone.
- Don't scrape, resell or reverse-engineer the service, or access it with bots or scripts we haven't provided, except as the law allows.
- Don't upload malware, or anything designed to track or collect data from other users.
- Don't harass, abuse or threaten anyone, including our staff.
- Don't use it to send spam, collect people's contact details without permission, or for anything unlawful.
9. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep CourseXpress available and your data safe, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own copies of your source files. We may change or improve features; if we remove something material to a paid plan, we'll tell you in advance. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
10. Ending
You can stop using CourseXpress and delete your account at any time in Settings, which deletes your content. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or if the law requires, normally after notice. If you've paid in advance and we close your account without you having broken these terms, we'll refund the unused part.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
For consumers: we aren't responsible for loss that wasn't a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care, or for business losses.
For business users: we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, and our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. You'll cover our reasonable losses if someone brings a claim against us because of your content or your breach of these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll tell you about material changes at least 30 days in advance; continuing to use CourseXpress after that means you accept them. If you don't accept them, you can cancel before they take effect.
13. General
These terms and the policies they mention are the whole agreement between us about CourseXpress. If part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we can still do so later. We may transfer this agreement to a company that takes over the service, and this won't reduce your rights; you need our permission to transfer it. Nobody else has rights under these terms. We may send you notices by email or in the app, which counts as writing.
14. Complaints, law and contact
If something's gone wrong, email support@coursexpress.io or write to our registered office, and we'll try to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and its courts have jurisdiction; if you're a consumer elsewhere in the UK or EU, you can also rely on the mandatory laws of where you live and bring proceedings there.
